About the Author
Ronald Blake lives in Indianapolis, Indiana with his wife Roberta of 39 years. He has two children and five grandchildren,
and is the owner of a small excavating company. Mr. Blake's son is currently serving in Eastern Afghanistan with the U.S.
Army National Guard.
Before founding his excavation company, his previous occupation allowed him to travel extensively throughout North America, Asia,
and Europe, using his talents in Marketing and Engineering, in support of manufacturing companies for 27 years.
His first book, The Rainbow Bridge, was written out of his compassion for all animals, and his understanding of the strong
and loving relationship that pet owners share with their pets. The loss of these friends is often devastating. The
Rainbow Bridge is a short bereavement story based on the lives and painful loss of the author's own pet friends, written
with the hope of comforting and encouraging others experiencing the painful loss of a beloved animal friend.
Ronald Blake's second book (available late spring 2010) A Warrior's Word is an action adventure novel based on current events,
as well as the author's own Military and Technical Diving experiences. The story is set in Afghanistan and west central Florida,
where the author traveled for cave diving in his earlier years as a member of two technical dive teams. There are plans for the
return of two characters from A Warrior's Word in future books as well.
Mr. Blake has started a third book, Death for Duty and Honor, that will be available in late 2010. It is the story of three
retired Marine Snipers who make a pact to send a message to both Government and Industry Leaders, using techniques some would say are
violent, although they may agree that the message the characters deliver is long overdue.
Mr. Blake's favorite times are the times spent with his five grandchildren who also live in Indiana. In addition to writing, some
of his other hobbies include scuba diving, boating, soccer, photography, flying, and reading. His favorite authors are James
Patterson, Clive Cussler, Randy Wayne White, Iris Johansen, Robert Ludlum, and Darren Shell.
Ronald Blake is a Disabled Veteran of the Vietnam conflict, having served with both the 101st, and 82nd Airborne divisions.
He studied Engineering at UNC, and Airframe and Powerplant at Vincennes University in Indiana.
When not digging, or spending time with the grandkids, he finds time to write both at home, and on his boat at Willow Grove Marina on
Dale Hollow Lake in Tennessee.
He also enjoys visiting his
favorite tobacco shop, where he enjoys a good cigar and sharing stories with his friends
there.
Although he doesn't ride anymore, he still enjoys spending time with his horse April when he visits his daughter's farm.
